COLONEL SHRIVER FULL PLATE AMBROTYPERare full plate tinted ambrotype photo of Colonel Edward Shriver (1812-1896) who was famous for his part in quelling the Harper's Ferry raid in 1859, an insurrection led by abolitionist John Brown. He was commander of the 16th regiment of the Frederick MD militia. Plate is 7.75 inches by 6.25 inches, overall in frame 12.5 x 11 inches. Very good, clear image.
